Interdisciplinary Team Sample Essay
The team formed after the merging of KSS Associates firms and the other two accounting firms involved individuals from the same profession working together with the aim of attaining a common goal. From this description, this team is interdisciplinary team.
The members of this interdisciplinary team collaborate in their duties with the aim of achieving a common goal in their professional duties. Role blending has also, to some extent, been done in order to ensure that individuals who lack certain skills are complemented by other team members.
Even though the other firms had offices in Miami, Seattle, Los Angeles, and in Baton Rouge, the firms had decided to decentralise their operations in order to fully leverage the synergies of the different personnel knowledge in business. Team members in this interdisciplinary team agreed to work closely through constant consultations in order to ensure that success of the firms is attained in the most cost effective and efficient way possible. In order for efficiency and effectiveness to be enhanced in situations where the distances between the team members is very wide, well organized and efficient channels of communication are paramount. From the above team formation, it is evident that the interdisciplinary team form hindered the efforts to achieve the intended goals. The high levels of flexibility the team lead to improper organization thus totally hindering the attainment of the target goals.
