Slavery and slave trade are acts that only the depraved souls can tolerate since all men are equal with certain inalienable Rights i.e. life, liberty and pursuit of happiness. The subsequent deprivation of such rights should be unfathomable – even to the oppressive colonialists. Therefore, it is time to end this charade and take back our country.
Following the Seven years’ War, the colonial regime incurred a lot of debt the payment of which is facilitated by the colonies through a series of oppressive tax regimes systematically designed to expand the tax base in the colonies. My stand is that the colonial government has no right to levy taxes from the colonies since there is no direct representation of the colonies in the British Parliament (Wills 57).
