Governments play different but always important roles in tourism planning. Among these roles includes determining the nature and charges for tourist visas. This helps in budgeting for prospective incomes to not only the government but also the businesses involved in tourism. In addition the government also helps in the planning of tourist-related development projects that will lead to increasing the number of domestic as well as foreign tourists.
The South Korean government and the Nepalese governments have been widely involved in tourism planning. The Korean government has been involved through the ministry of culture and tourism and the Korea tourism organization. These two agencies have increased tourist activities as well as giving important information concerning different tourist attraction sites. The Nepalese government has also been doing the same since introducing the “Nepal tourism master plan” in 1972.
