Psychopathology usually pertains to the abnormality of their mental processes which results in abnormalities in their behavior. It has been suggested that such abnormalities can be related to biological factors. The biological model of psychopathology depicts that the cause for the behavior is related to an abnormality or damage sustained by a part of the brain. Pathological functions are complex and require the use of multiple areas of the brain. When any of these areas gets damaged a psychological dysfunction occurs.

However, if any of these neurotransmitters and the receptors get affected by a chemical imbalance in the brain, the processing of the signals in the brain gets hampered.
