American literature dates back to the 1800’s. It is one of the oldest forms of literature and it has grown by leaps and bounds ever since. It boasts a wide range of writers while at the same time incorporating different themes characterizing the culture and society of its time.
Over the years American writers have been able to increase people’s inspiration, surpassed their expectations, and changed viewpoints held by many people as well as set world literature writing benchmarks or standards.
Ernest Hemingway was born in America in 1899. He was an American journalist and writer who wrote widely before his death in 1961. Out of his industrious work and career he was able to win the Nobel peace prize in literature in 1954. The works of Hemingway has influenced many 20th century writers not only in America but the world over. Many of his writings have been depicted as classics not only in American literature but also in literature as a whole
