Due to the wide differences in the country’s income earning capacities, Nigeria’s hotel industry attracts tourist on various levels. The levels are mainly based on the income earning capabilities. Nigeria, unlike the United Kingdom (England) is a developing country. The country’s local hotel customers therefore comprise the different categories of the income earning groups.
However, the environment in which the hotel industry thrives on in the country mainly reflects the very rich category of the local population and the tourist who frequent the country due to good climatic conditions in Winter when countries in the Europe such as France and the United Kingdom have very cold weather conditions that do not indeed offer good conditions for people to visit the hotels, motels, restaurants, bars and other recreational facilities in the country (Ferguson 2004). Additionally, it would be important to note that Nigeria’s hotel customers mainly come from the majority rather than the minority filthy rich population.
