Betty Friedan was a feminist crusader who blasted into American consciousness via her work, which included producing a book called “The Feminine Mystique” in which she expressed her ideas on women’s roles.
Women’s roles used to be limited to remaining at home as housewives caring for their children, cooking for their husbands, and helping with other domestic tasks. Women have always been viewed as weaker vessels than males, and as a result, have been denied an equal footing in society.
They were said to have been created to serve men. It is critical for women to keep their career and personal lives in sync. She has every right to advance and develop her job, but she has also been entrusted with the task of demonstrating her ability to be a decent wife and mother.

Friedan emphasized the troubles and concerns that women confront while being financially secure and appearing to live a nice life; she argued that these are the problems that go unnamed. Her research revealed that, while our culture values marriage and housewifery, women desire more than simply a spouse, children, and a place to live.
